| To us folks on dial up internet service the CAHPI.CA site takes a long time to load. Most site designers seem to forget this. What I saw looked great. |

That's a fair comment, David.
If anyone wants it sent directly to their e-mail address I can do that, but the document is very large.

I have already seen some statements made this morning (in both private e-mails and on another chatline) that the CAHPI Certification Program is in jeopardy because the Liberal government has fallen. It was mentioned that 'this whole project will be on hold because there will be no further spending' until after the election. That is totally false and based solely on the desperate hopes of the author. Any funding that CAHPI has applied for is already committed and is fully available to CAHPI. The project is already under way and will go ahead as planned.
I have also seen some statements that intimated that the certification and its ramifications are governed by outsiders such as insurers, bankers, realtors, etc. That is just not true. These groups are being advised about what we have accomplished, and we are hoping they all support our initiative, but they have not in any way been able to influence the process, nor have they wanted to do so.
Many false statements are being made by people who do not understand the process, who do not want to help promote the betterment of our profession, and who feel that they can somehow interrupt a process that has been already studied, approved and decided. It is now being implemented, not devised.
I encourage all inspectors both inside and outside of CAHPI to espouse this certification program. It will be a huge benefit to competent inspectors. CAHPI is also very resolved to ensuring that the entire certification process is fair and open to all.
